"Local Builder
Achieves CPB"
Brandon
resident David Pennington, Owner and Managing Partner of The
Pennington Group, LLC, has successfully completed the requirements
set forth by the State of Mississippi and the Mississippi Housing
Institute to be recognized as a Certified Professional Builder.
David
has been building high end homes in the Jackson Metro area since
1996, specializing in the popular French Acadian style which exudes
what he describes as an "old world New Orleans" feeling. " I love
New Orleans. It inspires me. That's where most of my design and
finish ideas come from. Interior old brick walls with arched
doorways, wrought iron railings, antiqued cabinetry, real wood
shutters.... that's what makes a new house feel like it's been there
for 200 years."
His
perfectionist attention to details and mix of old materials and new
technologies create homes which are uniquely different from most of
the homes being constructed in the area.
Along
with over fourteen years of experience in all facets of the
construction industry, David also has a degree in Civil Engineering
Technology with a minor in Construction Management. Out of 883
licensed builders in the area, only 40 have the distinction of
Certified Professional Builder.

"2002
Parade of Homes Award Winning Builder"
For David Pennington, building
homes is more of a passion than a job. A third generation
contractor, he continues the tradition of quality construction that
his grandfather and father are known for. "Every house I build has
the same level of quality, whether it is a 1300 s.f. garden home or
a 6000 s.f. estate." He credits his attention to detail to his
experience in commercial construction. "After working with
architects and engineers on commercial projects, you tend to raise
the bar on your expectations of the people who work for you. The
bottom line will always be important, but I stress to my people that
quality should never be compromised. After all, a respectable
reputation is what keeps a builder in business, and it is a lot
easier to lose than to earn."
After
earning a degree in Civil Engineering and working as a project
manager for a commercial construction company in Kentucky, David
and his wife Shawn moved back to the Jackson in area in 1996, where
he worked as President of the family construction business. In
1996, he also started The Pennington Group, a design/build real
estate development and home building company. Drawing on his
Father's engineering and road construction experience, David
partnered with him in 1999 to design and develop Stoneybrook
subdivision in Brandon..
Stoneybrook is master planned upscale garden home development
featuring homes ranging in size from 1310 s.f to over 1800 s.f.,
with prices ranging from $125,000 to over $180,000. Located on old
Hwy 18 in downtown Brandon, Stoneybrook is convenient to the
interstate, shopping, schools, and local churches. Homes feature
amenities such as high ceilings, crown moulding, cellulose
insulation, scored and stained concrete floors, concrete counter
tops, ceramic tile, berber carpet, whirlpool tubs, architectural
grade light fixtures, sodded yards, and cedar fences.
207
Stoneybrook Drive, the 2002 Parade of Homes 1st place winner in the
homes to $150,000 category, is a two bedroom two bath garden home
featuring nine foot ceilings, a ten foot boxed vaulted ceiling in
the great room, a cathedral vaulted ceiling in the master bath,
ceramic tile floors, berber carpet, a huge whirlpool tub and
separate shower in the master bath, large laundry room with built in
desk, lots of cabinet space in kitchen, fenced in back yard with
concrete patio, and a fully sodded yard. It is approximately 1404
s.f. and priced at $147,900.
Currently, the Penningtons are planning a new development in
downtown Brandon. Eastpointe will be have a French-Acadian theme
featuring seven large lots with strict covenants. Homes will range
from 2800s.f. to over 4000 s.f. with prices ranging from $240,000 to
over $400,000.
David
builds primarily in the Brandon / Rankin County / Reservoir area,
but will give consideration to larger custom homes in other metro
Jackson areas. For more information about The Pennington Group

"No Housing Slowdown Here"
During
what some see as a major market correction in the residential
construction industry, one building company remains strong in its
forecast for 2007.
Ridgeview
Homes, LLC, a David E. Pennington company, announced the opening of
their new office in Brandon, MS on Friday. Ridgeview Homes is the
result of a change in direction for The Pennington Group, LLC. a
company founded by David Pennington over ten years ago. When asked
about his predictions for 2007, Mr. Pennington stated "I've been in
this industry for fifteen years, and have seen some cyclical
activity. I'm convinced that all of the "bubble hype" we are
hearing now is based on sheer speculation with little fact. It
makes a good story. The economy is boiling right now, the stock
market is at an all time high, and unemployment is down. I'm not an
economist, but all of those factors point to a strong housing
forecast. I formed Ridgeview Homes to strictly be a home building
company. The Pennington Group focused on both home building and
real estate development, and I felt that the two needed to be
separated. With this split, each company will have it's own
identity. The commitment to quality and service that we have built
our reputation on will remain the same with both companies."
Ridgeview
plans to start building in Silver Ridge, a new subdivision in Pearl
in early December. Preliminary plans include the construction of 32
new homes in Silver Ridge in 2007. The homes in Silver Ridge will
be in the 1400-1600 s.f. range, feature amenities such as ceramic
tile floors, stained kitchen cabinetry, and slab granite counter
tops, with selling prices starting around $158,000. "We haven't
seen a slowdown in this segment of homebuyers in this area, and with
the added features of these houses, we expect 2007 to be a banner
year."
